Contractor blames Lincoln Memorial problems on itself, not vandals: Report

The contractor behind the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool renovation says mistakes made during the repair caused the pool’s new blue liner to peel and blister, according to a new report. Atlantic Industrial Coatings found that workers did not apply enough primer in some areas and that two materials used for the liner were not compatible,…

Stubborn inflation raises prospect of Fed rate hike

The Federal Reserve appears increasingly likely to hike interest rates next week, as inflation remains stubbornly elevated amid the war with Iran. New data out Friday showed annual inflation remained unchanged in August, still well above the central bank’s target 2 percent rate. This is raising expectations of a rate hike, even as President Trump pushes…

Tesla Cybercabs turn up in NYC.

Miami is looking like the next market for Elon Musk’s steering-wheel-less autonomous vehicles. But a few of the gold two-seaters were spotted in New York City — albeit with steering wheels and human safety monitors driving manually. The Justice Department is looking into Steve Ballmer’s jumbotron corruption scandal.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Video Review - IGN

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 reviewed by Will Borger on PC, also available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S."Fireteam Elite 2 doesn’t reinvent the wheel. It’s best alongside three friends for a full squad, but it’s fun enough solo as well. The story isn’t anything to write home about, but the characters are likeable, the missions are fun, and the new Specialist class provides a cool way to further customize your kit. There are some bugs in this bug hunt, but they don’t distract from the action too much. Turns out blasting Xernos and synths is a good time with friends, and there is a lot of blasting to be done thanks to the Horde mode and a smart unlockable system that encourages you to replay levels, explore each class, and try new things. It may not quite be a glorious day in the corps, but it’s damn close."
