Carson Brown to drive No. 2 O'Reilly car for Richard Childress in 2027

Carson Brown has earned a ride at one of NASCAR's top levels. Earlier in the month, Richard Childress Racing announced that Brown will drive the No. 2 car full-time for the organization during the 2027 NASCAR O'Reilly Series season. The 18-year-old driver will join Chandler Smith, who will become the full-time competitor in the No. 21 car in 2027.

Brown made his O'Reilly Series debut with Jordan Anderson Racing in the No. 32 car at Iowa Speedway, finishing in 15th place. Brown signed as a developmental driver for Richard Childress Racing a few years ago, so it only makes sense that he joins Richard Childress Racing's new driver lineup in the O'Reilly Series.

Austin Hill is being promoted to the No. 33 Cup team while Jesse Love signed with Wood Brothers Racing to drive the No. 21 Cup car in 2027. Now, Brown and Smith will usher forward a new era of Richard Childress Racing in the O'Reilly Series. It is a strong lineup, as Brown and Smith hope to sustain Richard Childress Racing's success.
