NASCAR reveals status of Ross Chastain's No. 1 car at R&D Center

NASCAR took Ross Chastain's No. 1 car to the R&D Center after the Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway. Following a solid run at Kansas, the sport conducted a closer inspection of Chastain's vehicle; however, did the Trackhouse Racing driver receive any penalties?

Chastian's No. 1 car had no issues at the NASCAR R&D Center, which is the best result from further inspection. In previous years, NASCAR has found issues that cost a race team and driver over 100 points and more, so Hamlin receiving the green light is excellent news.

Going into Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Chastain sits 19th in the points standings after missing the 2026 Chase. There are six races left in the NASCAR season. The driver of the No. 1 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing hopes to carry his momentum into Las Vegas, as the organization looks to capitalize on its speed in 2026.
