Rosie O’Donnell jabs Trump, fuels Harp buzz: ‘Let Natalie tuck you in’

Comedian Rosie O’Donnell swiped at President Trump over his close relationship with his executive assistant Natalie Harp while guest-hosting ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Wednesday, piling on to the viral critique of the longtime White House aide.

“A special hello to those of you watching from home and from the White House,” O’Donnell said during her monologue, while not mentioning Trump’s name directly. “But I do have some bad news for President Petty Roosevelt. That’s all I’m going to say about you tonight, sweetheart.”

O’Donnell, who has feuded with Trump for years, opened her third night filling in for Jimmy Kimmel by joking that she would leave the president alone for the night, before turning her attention to Harp.

“You’ve got to realize it’s time to hang up your wig and let Natalie tuck you in,” O’Donnell said, drawing gasps and applause from the audience. “Time to go nighty night.”

Harp, a longtime Trump aide who has reportedly accompanied the president on his golf trips and to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on a regular basis, has been in the center of media headlines since Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) slammed her during a campaign speech Sunday .

Ossoff, who is seeking reelection against Trump-backed Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.), fired at Trump over his planned White ballroom construction and a luxury jet donated by Qatar, saying the president “wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace.”

Several key figures in Trump’s inner circle have come to Harp’s defense , including the president’s son Eric Trump, who called Ossoff’s comments “absolute trash,” and White House Communications Director Steven Cheung who fired back at the Georgia Democrat.

“Instead of denigrating hard-working people serving their country, Jon should look deep into his soul and ask himself why he’s a miserable person who hates this country,” Cheung wrote on social media, adding, “It’s because he’s a radical, extremist Dumocrat,” using Trump’s nickname for Democrats.
