Alina Habba says she’s ‘not in the running’ to replace Leavitt

Alina Habba, the president’s former personal attorney, ruled herself out as a candidate for White House press secretary as speculation swirls about whom President Trump will pick to replace Karoline Leavitt.

“Flattered by the Kalshi odds, but I’m not in the running for any job,” Habba wrote in a social media post on Wednesday, referring to the popular prediction market. “However, if I’m getting a new one, I’d love for one of these anonymous sources to let me know first.”

Habba is one of several public figures and people close to the president who are believed to be on a shortlist of potential candidates to replace Leavitt, who is slated to leave the White House this month.

Leavitt, the only person to serve as Trump’s press secretary during his second term, announced earlier this month she was leaving the job to spend more time with her family.

The top spokesperson for Trump’s 2024 campaign, she recently had a second child.

Habba made a name for herself in the media defending Trump while he was out of office and faced various charges relating to his businesses, handling of classified documents and attempts to overturn the 2020 election.

“Fake news remains the undefeated champ,” Habba wrote in her social media post. “Well…until I come at them.”
