‘Doesn’t wanna win’: Charlamagne Tha God bashes Hakeem Jeffries over healthcare

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is facing criticism after a recent exchange on “Meet the Press” where he said he does not support Medicare for All.

It’s getting attention because Jeffries previously supported and co-sponsored the legislation in 2019.

And that’s where Charlamagne Tha God comes in, giving Jeffries his Donkey of the Day, going directly after the change in Jeffries’s position.

Voters want government involved in healthcare. Don’t take my word for it: a 2025 Data for Progress poll found 65 percent of likely voters supported Medicare for All when it was described as replacing most private insurance.

But Pew found something broader: 66 percent of Americans said the federal government has a responsibility to ensure everyone has health coverage .

And the affordability problem is also a real one.

KFF found 36 percent of adults said they skipped or postponed needed healthcare because of cost. So, if a political leader as powerful as Hakeem Jeffries changes position on a major issue, voters deserve more than a pivot. They deserve the why and, more importantly, the what now.

If Medicare for All is no longer the answer, what is? Because if memory serves me correctly, the government shut down a few months back over rising healthcare costs , and since then, nothing has changed. In fact, health costs have only gone up !

Do the new options Jeffries has in mind offer lower premiums, cheaper prescriptions or protection from medical debt? We have been fighting about lackluster healthcare options for decades in this country.

Americans are already paying the price of a healthcare system they believe is broken. Blaming the other party alone doesn’t answer the question all voters are asking at this point: What exactly is your solution?
