Moskowitz says Piker, DSA members ‘can’t coexist with me’

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) went after left-wing streamer Hasan Piker and members of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) on Thursday, saying the two “can’t coexist with me.”

“Well, I mean, we’re going to see if we can coexist with them. I mean, they can’t coexist with me.” Moskowitz told Fox Business Network’s Stuart Varney on “Varney & Co.” while discussing Piker and the DSA.

”They targeted me months ago to try to take me out in a district that Trump won by nine,” he said, referring to President Trump’s 2024 win. “So, that was clear there. They weren’t interested in winning the general election in my seat. They were interested in just taking out a Democrat.”

“And so, you know, look, they’re making blue seats cobalt blue, but we got to win the general election. That should be the goal, and everyone needs to be rowing in that direction,” the congressman added.

On Tuesday, Moskowitz taunted Piker after his primary victory over progressive union organizer Oliver Larkin in Florida’s 25th Congressional District.

In the race, Moskowitz garnered 63.5 percent of the vote to Larkin’s 36.5 percent. The DSA-backed candidate had criticized American military aid for Israel and the war in Gaza, calling it a genocide. Piker fundraised for and backed Larkin.

“My condolences to @hasanthehun,” Moskowitz wrote on social media after his victory .

Piker responded to Moskowitz’s mocking, writing back on social media that it’s “pretty wild that his first thought was a prominent critic of israel, before even thanking his constituents lmao.”

Referencing Moskowitz’s staunch backing of Israel, Piker added that the congressman is “really worried about his genocidal emotional support apartheid state.”

The verbal fire between Piker and Moskowitz reflects the growing divide between the far-left and moderate wings of the party, which has largely focused on disagreements over economic policy and the U.S. stance toward Israel and its war in Gaza.
