Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick tested a head-turning new backline of players during the club's latest training session on Friday morning.
This of course comes as the German and his staff are forced to deal with an ongoing personnel crisis in the Blaugrana's defence.
Flick is currently unable to call upon any of Andreas Christensen, Jules Koundé, Eric García and Xavi Espart, owing to respective injury problems.
This leaves just four senior defenders currently fit and available for selection in Catalunya's capital, namely João Cancelo, Pau Cubarsí, Gerard Martín and Alejandro Balde.
As alluded to above, though, this did not stop Hansi Flick from testing an altogether different back-four in training ahead of his side's La Liga meeting with Deportivo Alavés on Saturday.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo , following the departure of the media presence from the Ciutat Esportiva on Friday, the following group of players were tested as a defensive unit:
Brian Fariñas – Pau Cubarsí – Frenkie de Jong – João Cancelo
