Iowa high school football schedule Week 5. Every Ames-area IHSAA game

It's Week 5 of the 2026 Iowa high school football season , and all seven teams from the Ames area will be in action on Sept. 25.

Ames is back home for the first time since Week 2 as the Little Cyclones host Des Moines Roosevelt for homecoming. Gilbert will also host its homecoming game this week, as the Tigers take on Bondurant-Farrar.

Ballard faces a tough test at the friendly confines of Rich Strouse Field in Huxley when the Bombers host Class 4A No. 7 North Polk in a 4A District 5 rivalry game and Nevada goes on the road for the second week in a row to face Winterset during 3A District 5 play.

Roland-Story, the No. 4 team in 2A, hosts Vinton-Shellsburg for its homecoming game. In 8-player District 6, Colo-NESCO is at Clarksville and after a week off Collins-Maxwell hosts GMG.

Ballard vs. North Polk, 7 p.m. at Rich Strouse Field in Huxley

Winterset vs. Nevada 7:30 p.m. at McGaffin Field in Winterset

Roland-Story vs. Vinton-Shellsburg, 7 p.m. at Kerry Van Winkle Field in Story City

Clarksville vs. Colo-NESCO, 7 p.m. at Clarksville High School in Clarksville

Collins-Maxwell vs. GMG, 7 p.m. at Collins-Maxwell High School in Maxwell
