Former Nebraska running back has strong day for the Kansas City Chiefs

Former Nebraska football running back Emmett Johnson is continuing to make waves with the Kansas City Chiefs . Chiefs coach Andy Reid said the team will give him the ball more after another solid performance in the Chiefs' win on Sunday.

Johnson had a big day for the Chiefs, doing a little bit of everything. He carried 15 times, averaging 7.5 yards per carry. He also contributed in the passing game, catching two passes for 20 yards. His longest catch was 12 yards.

Johnson also contributed on special teams. He also returned a kick for 34 yards. Overall, he had four total touches for 35 scrimmage yards. This was enough to impress his coach.

"I think Emmett will continue to get more snaps, and then that'll take a little bit of the load off Kenny (Walker)."

This is the second week in a row the former Nebraska standout has played a major role. The Chiefs are in good hands with Kenneth Walker III as the starting running back. That being said, Johnson is proving to be one of the most dependable backup running backs in the NFL.

Johnson's production is opening many eyes. However, it's nothing new for Huskers fans, who've seen it week after week.
