Kentucky scored on a controversial Tush Push touchdown at the end of the first half during Saturday's 35-34 overtime win over LSU, when quarterback Kenny Minchey appeared to have his momentum halted but officials swallowed their whistles, allowing him to score on a second surge over the goal line.

LSU head coach Lane Kiffin told reporters on Sunday that an official said there was "just too much at stake" to blow the play dead right away.

"(The line judge) said he'd be killed if he would have blown the whistle for the play being stopped, even though it appeared to be stopped," he added.

Kiffin said the context of the moment shouldn't have influenced the call.

"Don't not blow [the whistle] because it was such a big play," he told reporters.

"The rules are the rules, so if you see it that way, then see it that way," he continued. "That's my complaint with it. It all comes down to just blowing the whistle, so it is what it is."

The loss dropped LSU to 4-2 on the season and put their College Football Playoff hopes on life control, with tough matchups against Mississippi State, Alabama, Texas and Tennessee still to come.
