Odell Beckham Jr. says the New York Giants "gave me the run along" with their decision to release him Tuesday after he made the initial roster.

The veteran wide receiver provided his perspective through Instagram comments and explained it "broke me tf down" when his son was talking about how happy he was before knowing Beckham was no longer on the team.

He also said, "idk why they even gave me the run along, I coulda really been playing this year somewhere and making a impact."

Notably, Beckham's comments come after NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported the Giants and Beckham came to a "mutual" decision to part ways.

"This gives him an opportunity to catch on with a team in a better situation, where his talents can be better utilized," Schultz added.

Beckham's latest comments didn't make it seem like a mutual decision, and they also come after head coach John Harbaugh was matter-of-fact about the situation.

"We just weren't getting enough. It just wasn't working for us," Harbaugh told reporters Wednesday. "I wanted to be able to give more; I wanted him to be able to do more. I wanted to get him on the field more.

"I'm not hiding anything. It's not Watergate. We're trying to be the best team we can be this week."

Beckham's return to the Giants seemed like a full-circle moment for his career, as he starred for the franchise during his first five seasons. He was a three-time Pro Bowler and the Offensive Rookie of the Year during that span and also surpassed 1,300 receiving yards in each of his first three seasons.

Yet the version of Beckham who started the 2026 campaign was not the same as the one who was so unstoppable early in his career.

He failed to record a catch and had just one target in New York's first three games.

Instead, wide receivers Malik Nabers, Malachi Fields and Darnell Mooney, along with tight end Isaiah Likely, have been far more involved in the aerial attack. And now Beckham is left looking for his next stop after his reunion didn't work in New York.
