“Not Falling for This Propaganda”: NFL Fans Doubt Josh Allen Played With Flu and Needed IVs Before TNF Game

Michael Jordan's legendary "Flu Game" during the 1997 NBA Finals came down as one of the greatest moments in sports history. Now, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen may have just followed in his footsteps as he led his team to a 41-31 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 2, and according to "Thursday Night Football" analyst Richard Sherman , he did that while battling the flu.

In the postgame interview with Allen, Sherman said that the quarterback was "shivering in a hot tub," needed IVs, and refused to be admitted to a hospital before throwing three touchdown passes and two rushing touchdowns.

Some NFL fans weren't convinced by Sherman's account, with several questioning how the story was presented and the comparisons with Jordan's famous performance.

"Omg I'm not falling for this propaganda," said a fan.

Allen had 20 completions out of 31 attempts for 248 yards against the Lions, with three passing touchdowns plus two rushing touchdowns to complete one of the best performances of his career.

The first record is for the most NFL games with at least two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns, and Allen extended his record to 10. The second-most games in the NFL is Steve Young's four.

The second record he extended is the record for the most NFL games with at least three passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns. This game would be the fourth such game in his career, with the only other player to do it more than once being Kordell Stewart with two games.
