Joe Mixon Reportedly Visiting Seahawks After Posting Cryptic Video amid Injury Rehab

After missing the entire 2025 season while recovering from a leg injury, veteran running back Joe Mixon appears to be eyeing an NFL comeback.

Jay Glazer (h/t Underdog NFL ) reported on this week's episode of Fox NFL Sunday that Mixon is visiting with the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Mixon recently posted a video for his company, OneSock, and said at the end, "I'm back, baby!"

Mixon last played for the Houston Texans in 2024, appearing in 14 games and running for 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns on 245 carries to earn his second career Pro Bowl selection. He spent the first seven years of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, surpassing the 1,000-yard mark four times.

The Seahawks have an opening in their backfield after placing starting running back Jadarian Price on injured reserve on Saturday due to a chest injury. The rookie ball-carrier had started all three of Seattle's games, recording 119 rushing yards on 28 carries. He hadn't scored a touchdown, and he lost two fumbles.

"By no means is this JD's fault or anything like that," Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said Friday, per ESPN's Brady Henderson . "This is just what happens in football. Unfortunately, injuries happen. He can't control these things. He's done everything we've asked him to do since he got here. He's had a great attitude. He's been a great teammate. He has a great future. He's going to play great football for us when he comes back, whenever that is … It's just unfortunate."

Price will miss at least the next four games, leaving Emanuel Wilson and George Holani as Seattle's top available running backs. Fourth-year pro Zack Charbonnet is still working his way back from a torn ACL suffered during last season's playoffs.

The Seahawks are taking on the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, so they will likely wait a few days before making a decision on adding Mixon to the roster.
