It would be the final goal of the match, as Argentina sent Messi off with a 3-0 victory.
Messi announced his international retirement in August, but Argentina called the 39-year-old up one final time to get a send-off in front of his home fans.
It was an emotional night in Buenos Aires as Messi was honored for an international career that spanned more than two decades.
