DAZN announced Tuesday morning that Saved By The Bell and Extra alum Mario Lopez would be joining its Inside the Ring show.
What it didn't mention was that former host Max Kellerman and analyst LeSean McCoy wouldn't be there to greet him. According to Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports , they will not be returning for the second season of the boxing show.
Boxing insider Mike Coppinger announced Monday that he would return to the program, noting it would now stream twice a week on DAZN Boxing and Ring Magazine's YouTube channels. That follows last week's report from Total Boxing that Saudi official Turki Alalshikh has agreed to sell a controlling interest in Ring Magazine to DAZN .
According to a write-up in Ring , Lopez will be the show's new full-time host, teaming with Coppinger and a rotating panel of analysts. The longtime actor is a major boxing enthusiast, serving as a guest color commentator for boxing events and co-hosting a boxing podcast, The 3 Knockdown Rule , with Ring contributor Steve Kim.
Per FOS, the change won't impact Kellerman's role calling matches for Zuffa Boxing , a joint venture between the Saudi Public Investment Fund and TKO.
It's been a tough week for the former ESPN talking head, who was slammed over comments he made about the recently announced Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua fight and accused of being a mouthpiece for Alalshikh's camp in their public feud with Dana White.
