Chicago Bears vs. Minnesota Vikings Game Picks and Predictions

Hello Chicago Bears fans! We are back with our roundtable on Week 2 predictions of the Chicago Bears' home opener against the Minnesota Vikings . This week, the Bears face one of the NFL's most unpredictable defenses as Brian Flores matches wits with Ben Johnson. Johnson's offenses have tended to get the better of Flores coordinated defense over the years; however, Flores' defense gave the Bears fits last year in their two games, which they split. What happens when the unstoppable force meets the immovable object?

Lester : Bet the over again this week as the Bears will win 34 to 27. The running game will be the story, as D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai will again be over 200 combined yards, and Caleb Williams will add 50 more on scrambles. The quick passing game will find Colston Loveland for a half dozen catches, and Caleb will hit one massive deep shot to Luther Burden III . Grady Jarrett picks up his first sack of the year, and the Bears get three more takeaways.

Sam : The forecast calls for a rainy Sunday at Soldier Field. All the more reason for Ben Johnson to rely on his ground game to neutralize Minnesota's blitz. Hopefully, Caleb has been practicing his wet ball drills, and they can stay clean from turnovers. I think it could be a slog at times and a bit lower scoring. Bears 27, Vikings 23

Gary : Bears 28, Vikings 17. Heavy dose of the ground game makes QB1's life easier; Carson Wentz takes a couple sacks, loses a fumble, and throws a pick. The game gets iced with a Caleb Williams touchdown pass. Bears move to their rightful spot: 1st place in the NFC North.

Gooch : Bears 42, Vikings 10. I know most analysts are predicting a major regression in the Bears' scoring this week given the Vikings' defense, but I don't think Flores will find as much success this week with his pressure scheme against Caleb as he did against Jordan Love . Caleb will throw for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns. Colston Loveland finally gets on the board with two touchdown catches and 80 yards receiving. Swift adds a rushing touchdown and puts up another hundred-yard game. On defense, both Sweat and Booker notch a sack and several QB pressures as the Bears find Wentz a much easier target in the pocket than Bryce Young was in Carolina. Bears force Wentz to throw two interceptions, putting the Vikings behind the eight ball for most of the game.

Superfans: If I didn't know any better, I'd say Gooch was a distant relative on Busha Swerski's side with a prediction like that. Actually, I may need to check the family tree to be sure he's not a second cousin, because a first cousin wouldn't have gone with such a close score prediction. A first cousin would have brought another 50-burger to the party with some beefs and giardiniera, and called it: Bears 56, Vikings 3.
