Ken Roczen wins Carson 450 SMX Moto 1

CARSON, California : ken Roczen took the lead from Jorge Prado just past the halfway point and held his advantage until the checkered flag to win Moto 1 of Round 2 of the 2026 SMX Playoffs at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

Prado earned the holeshot and rode a comfortable pace until the for the first 12 laps. Roczen completed the pass in a split lane, when Prado went to the outside and had to slow for a fallen Joey Savatgy.

Roczen beat Prado into the next turn and stood him up to complete the pass. Soon after, the field hit lapped traffic in earnest and that has been Prado's Achilles Heel all season.

Haiden Deegan was in third place for the entire race and he never allowed the leaders to get out of his sight.

Hunter Lawrence had a bad start and completed the first lap in seventh, the steadily worked his way through the field, but stalled out in fourth.

The battle for fifth came down to a couple of veterans as Cooper Webb advanced, retreated, and ultimately took the spot.

Tomac was just outside that mark in sixth.

Julie Beaumer won the holeshot and led all 24 laps of Moto 1 in Round 2 of the SMX Playoffs.

Ken Roczen finished second in both motos and second overall in Columbus, but it's still business as usual for the Supercross champ.
