Bengals urged to ignore Joe Burrow after 'Let's throw it more' comment

This comment from Joe Burrow is one the Bengals should not listen to.

The Cincinnati Bengals lost in Week 4 to the Jacksonville Jaguars , dropping to 2-2 on the season, and tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for last in the AFC North.

To get back above .500, the Bengals need to handle their business against the Miami Dolphins , which shouldn't be too difficult. But with uncertainty about Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, Joe Burrow and the offense might be in some trouble.

That's all the more reason why the Bengals should listen to ESPN's Ben Solak's urging and ignore Burrow's comment about wanting to "throw it more" after a ridiculous 80-20 pass-run split in Week 4.

Bengals urged to ignore Joe Burrow's 'Let's throw it more' comment

"I think ... the Bengals need to ignore Joe Burrow about their pass-heavy approach," Solak writes.

After the Bengals' Week 4 matchup against the Jaguars, in which Cincinnati's offense threw the ball 81.7% of the time in the loss, Burrow was asked about that pass-heavy approach. His response? Burrow said, "Let's throw it more."

Burrow is a great quarterback and someone capable of throwing the ball 50 times a game if needed. But considering how bad of an idea that is long-term, the Bengals need to run the ball better this week.

With Chase Brown getting a weaker Dolphins defense, the Bengals should have no trouble running the ball effectively this upcoming week.

Add in the uncertainty of Chase and Higgins playing, which is further complicated by the looming Week 6 bye possibly incentivizing the Bengals to sit both WRs if they aren't 100%, and the Bengals might be forced to ignore Burrow's wishes.

While Burrow might be willing to throw the ball so much in every game, this isn't the recipe for a healthy offense. The Bengals have to get Brown and the run game going.

Solak is urging the Bengals to ignore Burrow's comment about wanting to throw the ball more, and there's no better week to do that than this one with a supposedly easy matchup against the lowly 0-4 Dolphins on tap.
