The New Saints survived a late scare to beat Airbus Broughton UK 2-1 in the first all-Cymru Premier tie of the season and advance to the 2026/27 Welsh Cup third round.

Dan Williams scored late to ensure the current Cymru Premier leaders were not dealt an upset defeat after Jordan Evans cancelled out Dan Davies' early strike.

TNS were knocked out in the third round by Cardiff Met last season, and could draw the Students again after their 4-0 triumph over Ynyshir Albions.

Fellow top-flight sides Connah's Quay Nomads, Cambrian United and Briton Ferry Llansawel are also in the hat for the third round.

Connah's Quay, two-time winners of the competition, beat Porthmadog 4-0 while Cambrian United beat Trethomas Bluebirds 5-0, with Dylan Edwards scoring twice.

Briton Ferry Llansawel cruised past Afan United with Luke Bowen scoring a 16-minute hat-trick, and goals from Joseph Lloyd and Corey Hurford in a 5-0 win.

Bowen was not the only man to score a second-round hat-trick as Tim Parker fired three for Caerau Ely in their 6-0 dismantling of Cymru South strugglers Llanelli Twn.

Swansea-based Rockspur Fords edged a seven-goal thriller against Evans & Williams, winning 4-3 thanks to a decisive fourth goal from Daniel Williams.

Bangor City 1876 are also through to the third round after beating Cymru North rivals Denbigh Town 2-0.

Further second-round ties are set to take place on Saturday and Sunday.
