Kevin O'Connell shares update on the health of Justin Jefferson
Kevin O'Connell shared an update on Justin Jefferson ahead of Week 4.
The Minnesota Vikings are dealing with one of the bigger injuries they have dealt with this year or the past few. Luckily for them, it doesn't seem too significant and it is coming at an ideal time in the schedule.
All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson suffered an ankle injury during the team's Week 3 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road. Jefferson was gearing up for a return in that game, but ultimately, the team was conservative in their approach and sat him out.
During the week, it was announced that Jefferson would miss Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins , but head coach Kevin O'Connell shared an update on his recovery.
O'Connell shared , "He's going to get treatment throughout the next couple of days and the goal is try to get him back out there practicing next week. I know it's a big one for him next week going to Louisiana."
In his absence in Week 4, Jordan Addison is expected to step up as the team's WR1. The former first-round pick could be a WR1 on a lot of other teams, so in Jefferson's absence, he will have a chance to showcase himself. In Week 3, he racked up five receptions for 90 yards and one score.
In Week 4, he could see double-digit targets with a full game of being the top guy.
