Lane Johnson update: Eagles tackle suddenly questionable for Week 4

The Eagles could be without their All Pro right tackle against the Rams in Week 4.

The Eagles are set to kick off at 1:00 PM on Sunday against the Rams, and they might be without their All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson. Reports emerged just hours before the team was set to take the field, that Johnson was questionable due to personal reasons.

To make matter worse, Lane's backup, Fred Johnson, was ruled out for this game due to injury. This means we could see a lot of rookie Markel Bell, who got some reps at right tackle during camp. Their only backup offensive linemen are Willie Lampkin and Micah Morris, who are interior blockers.

The Eagles offensive line already lost Landon Dickerson to IR, moved Cam Jurgens over to left guard in his place, and then added Drew Kendall in at center. Quarterback Jalen Hurts lauded Kendall's effort in his first game in his new role, and was one of the highlights last week against the Bears.

Still, having Lane miss Sunday's game is not ideal. He missed a good portion of training camp due to a personal situation, and he insinuated that whatever he was dealing with was pushing him toward retirement after this season. Hopefully, he's okay physically and mentally, and he's able to return to the team soon.
