San Antonio Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama appeared on 60 Minutes Sunday night and passed along an important lesson he learned from legendary former head coach Gregg Popovich.

"He often said something when we were in film: 'After a win, you're rarely as good as you thought you were, and after a loss you're rarely as bad as you thought you were,'" Wembanyama said.

Wemby, 22, came into the 2026-27 season among the frontrunners to win the MVP this season and has looked the part thus far, averaging 28 points, 10.7 rebounds, three assists, 1.3 steals and an absurd 4.2 blocks across six contests.

Perhaps more importantly, however, he's trying to get the Spurs back to the NBA Finals after the team fell short against the New York Knicks last season. Navigating that challenge, and his own continued efforts to improve, provides plenty of challenges. But Wemby seems to relish wading into the unknown.

"I think the key is being comfortable not knowing, being comfortable finding out my own answers," he told 60 Minutes , "I am comfortable not knowing my answers. I am comfortable walking through the fog."
