Raj maps district-wise industries to link school students with jobs
Rajasthan RCSE maps district industries to link Classes 9–12 vocational students with OJT, visits and placements, boosting local job options, especially for rural girls.
Jaipur: Rajasthan Council of School Education (RCSE) is mapping industries across districts to connect students in Classes 9 to 12 enrolled in vocational courses with on-the-job training (OJT), industrial visits and placement opportunities. The initiative aims to expand career options, particularly for girls from rural areas who often opt for traditional trades such as sewing and salon services due to limited exposure and mobility.RCSE commissioner and state project director Rashmi Sharma said the department was preparing a roadmap for school-industry partnerships. “We are mapping industries near schools because parents often hesitate to send girls far from home due to safety concerns. We want students to access training and job opportunities close to where they live,” an official said. The Alwar-Bhiwadi belt, for instance, offers opportunities to partner with automobile companies for guest lectures and placements, the official added. OJT would familiarise students with workplace requirements and help reduce job attrition. The benefits of vocational training are already evident. Aarti Verma, whose father works as a labourer, studied retail at Govt Shardul Senior Secondary School in Kishangarh, Ajmer, and now works as a hotel front office assistant.Chanchal Prajapat, employed at a retail store, said training had improved her confidence in interacting with customers, arranging products and understanding their needs.Rajasthan offers vocational education in 17 trades across more than 4,000 schools, covering around five lakh students, including 2.84 lakh girls and 2.05 lakh boys.Potential industry partners span healthcare, textiles, tourism, IT, electronics, banking and retail. The department has held discussions with representatives of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce and Industries, and NIF Global, including NIF Jodhpur. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Jaipur | Silver Rate in Jaipur | Bank Holidays in Jaipur | Public Holidays in Jaipur | Jaipur AQI | Weather in Jaipur | Petrol Price in Jaipur | Diesel Price in Jaipur | CNG Price in Jaipur | LPG Price in JaipurStay updated with the latest Jaipur news.
