Britain Covey ruled out of Eagles-Cowboys MNF game
The Eagles will be without their top returner for the rest of Monday night’s rivalry game.
The Cowboys were forced to settle for a field goal on the first drive against the Eagles on Monday Night Football , and unfortunately, on the kick-off that followed the first points of the game, Britain Covey was injured on the return. He was listed as questionable to return with a knee injury shortly afterward, with return duties going to Dameon Pierce and Elijah Mitchell.
It only took 13 minutes for the Eagles to rule Covey out of the rest of the game — that doesn't seem ideal.
Covey has dealt with several injuries since returning to Philadelphia this offseason, but has consistently been the team's best option on kick returns. He also provided some much-needed depth at wide receiver — even though he's at the bottom of the depth chart, with DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks sidelined, there's always a chance Covey is needed on offense.
Hopefully, Covey doesn't have to deal with this injury long term, and is able to get back sooner rather than later.
