Malone, Gouverneur, SR and Chateaugay win girls soccer matches

In NAC girls soccer, Malone shaded OFA 3-2, Gouverneur shut out Massena 5-0 , Chateaugay prevailed over Colton-Pierrepont 4-1 and Salmon River shaded Canton 3-2 in overtime.

Malone 3 - OFA 2: Ireland McNally sniped home a direct kick with 12:24 remaining in the game to cap a period of sustained offensive pressure and pull the Blue Devils into a 2-2 tie. The Huskies answered two minutes later breaking up a clearing attempt and Carment Battle setting up Brook LaPlante for a high shot from a 45 degree angle which nestled under the crossbar.

In the first half, McNally opened the scoring and Malone answered with goals by Presley Welch and Carmen Battle.

"Ireland McNally scored two big goals for us and Marisol Bertrand made great runs throughout the game," said OFA Coach Amy Lemke.

Gouverneur 5 - Massena 0: The Wildcats scored five times in the first half led by Peyton Wood with three goals and an assist on a Jacie Prashaw tally. Adison Tarkowski also scored and Lilah Siebels, Gracen Hance and Kirasha Stamper each adding assists. Liberty Allen stopped three saves in the shutout.

Chateaugay 4 - C-P 1 Khloe Parmeter delivered two goals and one assist and Irelynn LaPlante scored twice for the Bulldogs in a match of NAC East leaders. Yakelin Costello-Rameriz added an assist to the support of Evan Staples 4 save goaltending.

Johnny Andrews Perry scored unassisted for C-P and Shea Charleson made 10 saves

"This was a great battle between two good teams. Exactly what you'd expect from a Colton/Chateaugay game. Both teams played really hard and it was a physical game. I thought we really dug in. We were down some girls today including Maddy McComb," said Chateaugay Coach Jason LaPlante. "Mya McComb really stepped up in the midfield. Khloe and Irelynn just keep constant pressure up front. Gwynn Campbell had a great game defensively."
