AP College Football Poll 2026 Week 4 Rankings Released with Top Risers and Fallers

Ole Miss now occupies a top-five spot in the Associated Press Top 25 for the third straight season.

The Rebels moved up from eighth to fourth thanks to their dramatic 32-24 win over LSU on Saturday night. The Tigers, meanwhile, lost some ground, going from seventh to 10th.

Falling victim to the biggest upset in Week 3, Texas A&M tumbled a long way from its No. 9 position. The Aggies are in 23rd after losing 31-21 to Kentucky.

LSU vs. Ole Miss was one of the most anticipated games of 2026 with Lane Kiffin returning to Oxford.

The contest didn't disappoint as the Rebels jumped out to a 24-7 halftime lead before the Tigers tied the game in the fourth quarter. A 14-yard touchdown run by quarterback Trinidad Chambliss put Ole Miss back on top before LSU's Sam Leavitt threw an interception on 4th-and-goal from the 6-yard line to seal the outcome.

Chambliss threw for 363 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in a performance that could have Heisman Trophy implications. With the massive win, the Rebels burnished their credentials as a team with College Football Playoff ambitions.

By making the game close, LSU ensured its stock wouldn't take too much of a hit.

Texas A&M, on the other hand, knew what was coming after it laid an egg at home against Kentucky.

The Aggies trailed by 21 at one point before a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter at least made the final margin a little more flattering.

Coach Mike Elko will be disappointed by how little his defense disrupted the Wildcats. Kentucky quarterback Kenny Minchey was an efficient 14-of-18 for 252 yards and two touchdowns, while CJ Baxter and Jason Patterson combined to run for 145 yards.

A&M quarterback Marcel Reed also generated more concerns over whether he can be QB1 for a program with the Aggies' kind of expectations. He finished 26-of-49 for 236 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

A&M still has to play Missouri, Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Texas during the regular season. Maybe Saturday was a needed wakeup call. Otherwise, you can find two more losses on the Aggies' slate, and that would likely knock them out of the CFP hunt.

One of the most consequential games in Week 3 took place Friday night in Lubbock, Texas.

Houston quarterback Conner Weigman was inches away from breaking the plane and punching it in on his team's two-point conversion attempt.

Having edged past the Cougars, Texas Tech has a pretty straightforward path to the conference championship. The Red Raiders don't play another ranked opponent as they avoid BYU and Utah in Big 12 play.

Sure, you'd feel better about Tech with Brendan Sorsby at quarterback instead of Will Hammond. The rest of the roster appears to be good enough to mount another CFP challenge.
