Packers' Jordan Love Recaps 'Frustrating' Loss to Falcons, 'It's Back to the Drawing Board'

A tough start to the season for the Green Bay Packers may have hit its nadir on Thursday night with a 35-14 home loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Following the 21-point defeat, Packers quarterback Jordan Love called it a "frustrating" game and "it's back to the drawing board" for the team as they look to find ways to turn things around.

If not for some poor game management by New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn in Week 2, the Packers realistically could be 0-3.

The overtime victory over the Jets gave the Packers a slight reprieve, but all of that slipped away with a loss against a previously-winless Falcons team that had not reached the red zone in their first two games.

This isn't even a situation where you can point to one thing that's not working. The Packers have been bad in almost every phase of the game thus far. Their defense held up well through the first two games before giving up 498 yards to Atlanta, including 242 on the ground.

Offensively, things have been a mess thanks to bad blocking by an injury-ravaged line and turnovers. Love leads the NFL with four fumbles (one lost) and he's been sacked eight times through three games. His current sack rate of 6.06 percent is markedly higher than his career rate of 4.4 percent.

Opposing defenses creating constant pressure is also resulting in Love completing just 52.4 percent of his pass attempts this season. Compounding matters, Green Bay can't run the ball, with a total of 146 rushing yards through three games.

For comparison, Falcons running back Bijan Robinson had more rushing yards on Thursday night (194) than the entire Packers team has this season.

Since Micah Parsons tore his ACL in Week 15 last season, the Packers are 1-7 in their last eight games, including a playoff loss to the Chicago Bears. They do get a few extra days to try and figure things out before a Week 4 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium.
