Cam Ward is brushing off the threats that frustrated Tennessee Titans fans have been sending his family in the wake of their rough start to the season.

"I mean, at the end of the day, people are weird," he said on Wednesday, via ESPN .

The Titans have opened the season 0-3, and Ward has struggled at the start of his second campaign in the league. The former Miami standout and No. 1 draft pick most recently threw a bad interception late in their 12-7 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday. The Titans were right up against the goal line with just 24 seconds left in the game when Jevon Holland intercepted Ward, which sealed the loss.

Though the Titans' struggles aren't all on Ward, he's been taking the brunt of the criticism. Things have gotten so bad on social media that his sister even spoke out.

"The fact I even have to post this is diabolical," she wrote on an Instagram story on Sunday, via ESPN . "People see the football games, they see the wins, the losses, the interceptions, the touchdowns, the press conferences and everything that happens on the field. What they don't see is what comes with it for the people who love these players when the game is over. "Criticize the game, criticize a play, be frustrated with your team. That's sports, and I completely understand that. But seeking out a player's sister, parents or other family members to personally attack them because you're upset about what happened on a football field is something completely different."

Ward went 23 of 36 for 181 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the loss. He's thrown for 504 total yards and two touchdowns so far this season while completing better than 62% of his passes.

Ward and the Titans will next take on the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. A win there will end their losing streak and avoid matching last year's 0-4 start to the campaign.

As for the criticism and threats that he and his family are receiving, Ward knows there's one sure way to get it to stop.

"They can say whatever they want at the end of the day, but I think football will take care of a lot of it," he said. "My family knows the position I'm in and what I've wanted my whole life. They're in this position as well with me … Every adverse situation I have, I'm going to take on. It's really just about making plays on the football field. If I do that, we do that as a team, it's going to cut all that out."
