Two-time Super Bowl champion LeSean McCoy has called out the LA Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert after his poor start to the season despite being given all the resources.

In three games, the 28-year-old has thrown for 627 yards and has four interceptions to his name, which is the second most in the league behind Drake Maye.

A lot was expected from the Chargers and Herbert going into this season, but with the 0-3 start, they once again look like a team that will crash out without making the playoffs. What makes it harder for the Chargers is that they have a tough schedule coming up.

Throughout the three games, one person who has come under the most scrutiny has been their star, QB Justin Herbert. With the team preparing to play the Seattle Seahawks next, LeSean McCoy has also added to the list of analysts and former players who have expressed their disappointment on his poor form this season.

McCoy believes despite having it all Herbert has taken a step back

Before the start of the season, many analysts had Herbert and the Chargers as the player and team to watch out for. However, they have been extremely disappointing since Week 1, and their next test is going to be even harder, as it is the defending champions who await them.

Herbert, who now has a new offensive coordinator, is completing only 59.1% of his passes, which has been a huge 'step back' according to McCoy.

"You have a winning coach, he's been a winning coach everywhere he's been at, whatever team you give he eventually starts to win," said McCoy on Speakeasy. "You get him a really, really good coordinator… you talk about an explosive offence, creative, we gave him that… The baggage last year was the offensive lineman was hurt, okay, now his offensive lineman is back, now they healthy.

"So all these things you got and we see worse results, so I got to talk about Herbert and I am a big fan of Herbert, but he has taken a step back. They gave you more things, more weapons, more linemen, a really good head coach, a really good offensive coordinator and you take a step back?"

Last season, with a depleted offensive line, Herbert threw for 3,727 yards and led the team to an 11-6 record. They made it only to the wildcard round but were eliminated, however, there was faith that with good players and a new offense, Herbert could help the Chargers, but that has not been the case so far.

The game against the Seahawks is going to be a tough one for the Chargers. For any chance of beating them, they will have to get Herbert back to his best. With all the criticism after the first three games, he will certainly be gunning for a big performance, and if that comes against the Seahawks, that could turn his and the team's fortunes around.
