The Dallas Cowboys have started the 2026-27 NFL season 1-2, but they have shown signs of promise. The team has what it takes to compete with the best in the league.
That doesn't mean they can't get better, and owner Jerry Jones is seeing to it that they do. The Cowboys have made a huge move late on Wednesday night.
Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. has been in a contract standoff with the team since the offseason. Dallas has swooped in to take advantage of the situation.

The Cowboys are reportedly sending the Steelers a 6th-round pick in 2027, and a 2nd-round pick in 2028 for the star cornerback.
After the news came out, fans on social media had a lot to say about it. For the most part, the consensus seems to be that Dallas has gotten a great deal.
"Jerry's going for it, this is just the sort of move we needed," one fan wrote on X. "Jerry I take it all back, this is amazing," another fan claimed.
"Oh my god Jerry's actually going all in," a third fan said. "Dallas has literally zero interceptions all year, so this is a no-brainer," a fourth fan observed.
"Wow! Actually shocked they did it. Now they gotta pay him too," read another comment. "I'm ready for the Cowboys to pay him whatever if he can help this defense out," a sixth fan wrote.
Porter Jr. has been dealing with a back injury to start the 2026 season. Apart from concerns over his health, this looks like it might be an excellent move by Jones and the Cowboys.
