Ohio State's Julian Sayin and Oregon's Dante Moore were expected to be among the top quarterbacks in the 2027 draft class, but they've both dealt with health issues during their respective 2026 campaigns.
Sayin suffered an injury to his throwing arm that could sideline him for the rest of the season, while Moore has been ruled out for the remainder of the year due to a concussion .
As for Carr, he's thrived through his first seven starts of the season. He's completed 66.8 percent of his throws for 1,639 yards and 16 touchdowns compared to just one interception.

Meanwhile, Mensah has been a key piece of a Miami squad that sat at No. 1 in the latest AP Top 25 poll with a perfect 7-0 record.
He's thrown for 2,151 yards and 22 touchdowns to go along with one interception across seven appearances. Mensah's 81.4 completion percentage is also the highest mark in the country.
In the latest mock draft from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department, Mestemaker was the first quarterback projected to be picked after he was taken off the board with the No. 3 overall choice.
