Cowboys Defense Called Out By NFL Fans After Loss vs. Jaxson Dart, Malik Nabers, Giants in Week 1

The Dallas Cowboys spent their offseason upgrading their defense, but those supposed upgrades were nowhere to be found on Sunday.

The Cowboys dropped their season opener to the New York Giants, 28-20.

After the poor showing in the loss, fans called out Dallas' defense.

The Cowboys had one of the worst defenses in the NFL last year, giving up the most points per game (30.1) and the third-most yards per game (377.0). That negated a tremendous season from the offense, which was near the top of the league in most statistical categories.

The thing separating Dallas from having an elite team was its poor defense, so the Cowboys made Christian Parker their defensive coordinator and added players like Caleb Downs, Quinnen Williams and more.

It's only one game, but it's likely hard for Cowboys fans not to be discouraged by what they saw against the Giants.

To be fair, the offense wasn't doing much either, as Dak Prescott had just 175 yards, two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions on 22-of-34 passing, but the Giants also dominated time of possession.

If Dallas' defense can't stop a rebuilding group like the New York Giants, it's hard to imagine it will have success against teams like the Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers and others it will face this season.
