Packers extend sickening losing streak to 6 games

The Green Bay Packers haven't won a real football game since Dec. 7 of last year. Sunday's collapse in Minneapolis, featuring 29 unanswered points and a historic win for the Minnesota Vikings , extended the team's losing streak to six games, including the playoffs. According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN , this represents the Packers' longest losing streak since the 1990-1991 seasons, or pre-Brett Favre.

And this isn't your average six-game losing streak. No, fans of the Packers have been put through a gauntlet of misery since last December. It's one thing to be talent-starved and struggling to compete week in and week out. Season-wrecking injuries and historic collapses from good teams with real expectations have made this one of the most sickening losing streaks in the franchise's long history.

On Dec. 7, 2025, Keisean Nixon 's leaping interception of Caleb Williams in the end zone with 22 seconds to go improved the Packers' record to 9-3-1.

Since then, the Packers have suffered the following defeats, in order:

Week 15: The Packers led the AFC-leading Denver Broncos 23-14 in the third quarter. Season-ending injuries to Zach Tom (now Zach Bako-Bewele) and Micah Parsons begin a spiral, and the Packers end up losing 34-26 when the Broncos score 20 of the game's final 23 points.

Week 16: The Packers lost Jordan Love to a concussion but led the Bears 6-0 at half, 13-3 after three quarters and 16-6 deep into the fourth quarter at Soldier Field. However, Romeo Doubs failed to recover an onside kick with 1:59 to go, Caleb Williams threw a game-tying touchdown pass on fourth down with 24 seconds to go, Malik Willis was stopped on fourth down in Bears territory to open overtime and Williams threw a walk-off 46-yard touchdown pass to win the game in overtime.

Week 17: In a game without Jordan Love and Lamar Jackson because of injury, future Hall of Famer Derrick Henry takes over, rushing for 216 yards and four touchdowns in a memorable primetime performance at Lambeau Field, and the Packers give up 307 total rushing yards in a 41-24 loss that clinched the NFC North title for the Bears . Green Bay becomes the first team ever to lose back-to-back games while not punting in either game.

Week 18: With nothing on the line in terms of playoff seeding, the Packers rest most veterans and start Clayton Tune at quarterback against Brian Flores in the season finale. What unfolds is one of the worst single-game passing performances in Packers history. Green Bay is shut out until the final moments and loses the game, 16-3. Tune completes six passes for 34 yards, takes four sacks for -41 yards and finishes with -7 net passing yards.

NFC Wild Card Round: The Packers raced out to a 21-3 lead at halftime in Chicago , but the Bears scored 13 straight points to open the second half and then stunned the Packers with back-to-back touchdowns to finish off the comeback, including Caleb Williams' go-ahead touchdown pass to D.J. Moore with 1:43 left. Brandon McManus missed two field goals and an extra point in the 31-27 loss. The Bears outscored the Packers 25-6 in the fourth quarter. The Packers held leads of 21-6 and 27-16 in the fourth quarter but were still eliminated.

Week 1: The Packers took a 22-10 lead deep into the third quarter of the season opener, but the Vikings ripped off 29 straight points to win 39-22 and become the first NFL team to trail by at least 12 points with under 20 minutes to go and win by at least 17 points. Green Bay is outscored 22-0 in the fourth quarter.

Will the losing streak finally end next Sunday? The Packers are headed to New York to play the Jets , who soundly beat the Tennessee Titans 23-10 in the season opener. There's no room to look too far ahead. Come next Sunday, the Packers will be roughly 9.5 months removed from their last real victory. Matt LaFleur's team just needs to get back in the win column and start erasing the awful taste of this losing streak at MetLife Stadium.
