49ers warned over injury to 10-time Pro Bowler amid multi-week absence

What will the Niners do?

The San Francisco 49ers have unfortunately dealt with many injuries over the past couple of years, a big reason this team hasn't been able to win a Super Bowl.

If the 49ers had stayed healthy on both sides of the ball, we'd likely be saying very different things about this organization. Instead, that injury bug keeps popping up, and it already has this season with fullback Kyle Juszczyk.

While he won't put up major numbers, at least not in the run game as a fullback, he currently has four carries and does a lot more as a blocker and through other factors that help the 49ers' offense.

That's why an ESPN insider recently suggested that his absence could be a big problem for San Francisco.

"I might think … the Kyle Juszczyk loss for the 49ers is a game-losing injury," ESPN's Ben Solak wrote

"Juszczyk, who left Sunday's game against the Broncos in the fourth quarter, has a bone bruise and is out for three to four weeks. Normally, a fullback injury might go unnoticed — heck, any injury for a player with four touches through four games. But Juszczyk has gone in motion on 61 snaps, second only to Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka. Among non-ball carriers, he is more integral to the 49ers' running game — both as a point-of-attack blocker and his versatility on where he lines up — than any other skill position player in the league. The 49ers should still throw the ball well, but bringing a one-dimensional offense into a game against the Seahawks feels perilous."

It'll be interesting to see what Kyle Shanahan wants to do with Juszczyk injured, since there really isn't a perfect replacement for him right now. After being selected in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft, he's built a really nice career for himself doing small things like that.
