Ravens' Plans, Timeline for Jacoby Brissett Revealed in Latest NFL Rumors After Cardinals Trade

Jacoby Brissett won't be on the Baltimore Ravens in time to start Thursday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with Lamar Jackson (thumb) and Tyler Huntley (toe) injured, but the plan is reportedly for him to take the field in Week 10.

"That is the expectation," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported when asked if Brissett will start against the Los Angeles Chargers on Nov. 16.

His update comes after he and ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Ravens "are finalizing a trade" to acquire the veteran quarterback from the Arizona Cardinals in a move that is "expected to be completed this weekend."

Baltimore came into the season with realistic Super Bowl expectations in large part because of Jackson's presence under center, but now it is in scramble mode following the injuries to its top-two quarterbacks.

Undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano will start Thursday's game after seeing some action in the team's most recent loss to the Buffalo Bills.

He went 10-of-21 for 91 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception in defeat.

As for Brissett, he was benched in the Cardinals' overtime win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Gardner Minshew II entered the game and overcame a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter with touchdown passes to Tyler Allgeier, Trey McBride and Michael Wilson.

With Minshew and rookie Carson Beck on the roster, Brissett became expendable.

Now it seems like the veteran will be tasked with leading the Ravens back into the AFC playoff picture. They enter Thursday's game with three straight losses and a 4-4 record, which has them in last place in the AFC North.

There is plenty of talent on the offense with Derrick Henry, Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews, among others, but the quarterback play will ultimately determine the team's ceiling the rest of the season.

And it seems like that will be Brissett by Baltimore's next game.
