Denver Broncos star receiver Jaylen Waddle was forced to exit Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers after sustaining a big hit in the first quarter.
Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport , the Broncos ruled out Waddle for the remainder of Sunday's game due to a concussion. Broncos cornerback Riley Moss also suffered a concussion and was ruled out.
Waddle recorded one catch for 22 yards before being forced to exit Sunday's game. He entered Week 9 as Denver's leading receiver with 29 catches for 315 yards and two touchdowns. The team ranked 25th in the league in passing offense with just 180.4 yards per game.
Despite the Broncos' struggles in the passing attack, they rode a four-game win streak into Sunday's matchup against the Panthers. Denver found ways to win against some tough opponents, including the defending champion Seattle Seahawks and the AFC West rival Kansas City Chiefs.
After losing Waddle on Sunday, Broncos quarterback Bo Nix connected with veteran wideout Courtland Sutton for a touchdown in the first quarter.
The Broncos will need multiple players to step up in Waddle's absence if they hope to extend their win streak. Luckily for Denver, it has one of the best defenses in the league and could survive a tough day on offense.
Without Waddle, more targets will be available for the likes of tight end Evan Engram and receiver Pat Bryant.
