Cam Skattebo 's leg really is doing fine.

The New York Giants running back suffered a horrific leg injury last season, but he recovered and was back in the lineup for the season opener on Sunday night. And judging by his gymnastic skills, he's feeling quite well.

Skattebo scored the first touchdown of the Sunday night game against the Dallas Cowboys , then got a 10 for the floor exercise portion of the program. He hit a handspring into a backflip and nailed the landing.

He finished with 81 rushing yards on 18 carries. One of those carries, an 8-yard run for a first down, iced the game for the Giants with 1:58 left and the Cowboys out of timeouts.

Skattebo made headlines this offseason when he did a backflip on stage at an event, but he couldn't stick the landing that time. A little more time to heal did him well.

Skattebo already has a reputation as a free spirit. Last season he was a fun story as a rookie for the Giants before a fractured fibula put him on injured reserve. He's back now. There will be plenty of viral moments to follow.
