Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels will miss Sunday's game in London against the Indianapolis Colts as he continues to recover from a dislocated elbow, head coach Dan Quinn announced Friday.
After suffering a dislocated left elbow in a Week 2 loss against the Dallas Cowboys, Daniels didn't undergo surgery and wasn't placed on injured reserve. While he sat out Washington's Week 3 win over the Seattle Seahawks, Quinn announced that he would be able to travel and practice with the team ahead of Sunday's game against the Colts.

The injury marked Daniels' second dislocation in 10 months, as he injured the same elbow in a Week 9 loss to the Seahawks last November. Nicki Jhabvala of NFL.com noted that "exams of Daniels' elbow showed no fractures or any extensive damage to the surrounding ligaments, potentially allowing him to return more quickly instead of facing immediate surgery and a spot on injured reserve."
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Daniels likely will need to undergo surgery after the 2026 season:
The Commanders would surely welcome Daniels back if he's ready to go, but veteran signal-caller Marcus Mariota proved that he can shoulder the load with a three-touchdown performance in the win over the Seahawks.
Daniels' next opportunity to line up under center will be in Week 5 against the New York Giants.
