Five-star Edge Jalanie George sets commitment date, Auburn in the mix
2028 five-star Edge Jalanie George has included Auburn in his top schools before his October commitment date.
One of the top Edge rushers for the 2028 recruiting cycle has set his commitment date, and the Auburn Tigers are one of the top four teams.
This week, Hayes Fawcett of Rivals reported that 2028 five-star Edge Jalanie George will announce his commitment on Oct. 1. According to Rivals, George is ranked in the top ten recruits for 2028. Outside of Auburn, George is choosing from Miami, Washington, and Wisconsin. According to 247Sports, George is rated as a five-star in their composite rankings. He plays high school football for Desert Edge in Goodyear, Arizona, where he is the No. 3 player in the state. He is rated as the No. 12 Edge according to 247Sports.
Auburn currently only has one player committed to the 2028 recruiting class. That player is quarterback Sam Sollie out of Gadsden City, Alabama. He is a three-star prospect who committed to the Tigers in early August. If George is to pick Auburn, it would give some early momentum for that class. George has been showing his ability since his freshman season in 2024. That season, he had 63 tackles with 11 tackles for loss and five sacks.
The 2027 class has three Edge players committed, including two four-stars in James Pace III and Marquis Evans. Rion Jackson is a three-star who is also committed to the team.
