Chelsea fans’ preferred lineup against Sunderland: Depend on de Penders

Sunderland vs. Chelsea, Premier League: Preferred lineup

· 238 words

Emiliano Martínez may be back in training, and he may be back in the Argentina squad, but he may not be back in our starting lineup today, at least if the WAGNH Community have anything to say about it (which we don't … which is probably for the best).

Young Mike Penders did not lose too many votes with the Masked Man (5%) apparently available to play just three weeks after undergoing surgery for a fractured jaw, though presumably that massive margin of victory was largely owed to Emi's uncertain status — despite the mask, and the training, and the international call-up.

Beyond Penders, the voters are also sticking with the back-four setup that helped us keep a clean sheet last weekend, though they are far from sold on Wesley Fofana (41%) … or Malo Gusto (14%) for that matter. Both players could quite conceivably get the nod from the manager however.

The rest of the lineup basically picks itself given our injuries and the uncertain status of Moisés Caicedo (20%).

4-2-3-1 (56%) Penders (95%) | Chavarría (77%), Colwill (98%), Acheampong (99%), Palestra (58%) | Lavia (98%), Henderson (77%) | Rogers (99%), Palmer (98%), Estêvão (82%) | Neto (66%)

Danny Welbeck (32%) and Emmanuel Emegha (12%) split whatever votes were left in attack, while Valentín Barco (13%) and Aarón Anselmino (13%) ended up with almost the exact same amount of votes in a bit of international teammate synergy.
