Georgia football 's game at Alabama Saturday night is expected to kick off as scheduled, but the Redcoat Band's pep band isn't making the trip due to Isaias.

The storm that was downgraded from a hurricane to a post-tropical cyclone caused damage due to high winds, fallen trees and heavy rain. Georgia Power said about 56,000 customers in the state were still without power at 10 .a.m., and another 60,000 customers had power restored.

About 80 members of the Derbies Pep Band were planning to attend the game as the only Redcoat members scheduled for the 7:30 p.m. ET contest, band director Brett Bawcum said in an email to the Athens Banner-Herald Saturday afternoon.

He said they were scheduled to travel on two buses to Tuscaloosa Saturday afternoon and then back to Athens after the game Saturday night.

"Out of an abundance of caution, the Derbies Pep Band will not be in attendance at today's game," the Redcoat Band posted in an Instagram story.

It said the band had extensive communication over several days with Georgia athletics, the University of Georgia administration and emergency personnel and travel partners.

"We appreciate the partnership in prioritizing the safety of our students and staff," the statement said. "We'll still be cheering just as loudly from Athens! Go Dawgs!"

Isaias was about 50 miles south of Birmingham at 10 a.m. Saturday, moving north-northwest at 10 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center, with sustained winds of up to 35 miles per hour with stronger gusts possible.

Wind advisories remain in effect in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa until 7 p.m. CDT. There is an 80% chance of rain in Tuscaloosa during the day and 50% at night.
