Jaxson Dart, Malik Nabers, Brian Burns and more Giants injury updates after Week 2 loss
The New York Giants saw four key players suffer injuries in the Week 2 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Here's injury updates on Jaxson Dart, Brian Burns, Malik...
The New York Giants were bitten by the injury bug on Monday night, with Jaxson Dart , Brian Burns , Andrew Thomas and Malik Nabers all coming down with injuries during the contest.
Dart suffered a scary knee injury on the first offensive series of the game for New York after getting sandwiched by two defenders and did not return.
Malik Nabers hurt his shoulder in the first half but was able to come back in the game and finish it out.
Andrew Thomas came down with a groin injury late in the fourth quarter and Brian Burns suffered an ankle injury not long after that.
Here's what we know about each player's status following the Week 2 loss to the Los Angeles Rams .
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo , Dart is believed to have suffered a sprained MCL and is "expected to miss some time."
Certainly great news considering we all feared the worst initially. Dart even tried to get back into the game, ESPN's Jordan Raanan reported, and was able to re-emerge from the locker room and finished out the game in street clothes on the sideline.
A sprained MCL could keep Dart out a handful of weeks, depending on the severity. We should know more on Tuesday.
Giants head coach John Harbaugh revealed that Brian Burns has a low-ankle sprain, according to SNY's Connor Hughes .
Another bullet dodged. Burns may only have to miss a few weeks, at most, with the injury.
There hasn't been much of an update on Thomas at this point.
Harbaugh did say, however, that none of the injuries sustained on Monday night are "life-threatening," per SNY , so it appears he'll be fine, also.
Nabers' injury occurred near the end of the first quarter and after the game he admitted he had to pop his shoulder back in before getting back into the game.
That said, Nabers feels like his shoulder will be OK, although he's set to have tests done just to make sure.
"My shoulder's okay. Gonna get an X-ray on it, see what's going on," Nabers said, according to SNY . "I was out there, trying to just come back out. We had lost Jax, so I didn't want to give the team another loss."
