Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts voiced regret from the organization over their handling of Shohei Ohtani's injury.

According to manager Dave Roberts, who spoke with the media, including Dodgers Nation, the team would love to go back and put Ohtani on the injured list, given he is already set to miss at least six of the last seven games, with more possibly in store.

The skipper said that Ohtani did not properly communicate the problem with his swing from the only game he has played in a week, Monday's series opener against the Cincinnati Reds .

Ohtani has missed six games out of the team's last seven, including Wednesday night's series finale against the Reds.

Once Ohtani entered the batting cages on Tuesday, he informed the team and staff about his discomfort.

"The concern is that after 4 days, to take 4 AB's and feel something, we can't keep going forward. That's disappointing," Roberts said.

Additionally, the big problem for the Dodgers would be that any injured list placement would be 15 days at minimum rather than 10 days.

"It's not ideal given that it would be 15 days. Whatever is best for him is best for us. We'll have to make that decision in time," Roberts added.

"It's his bicep, his arm. It's not one specific thing."

Unfortunately, Ohtani could be halfway through an IL stint already, with no game action in between that may have resulted in recovery.

Now, if he went on the IL, he may be looking at coming back on September 23rd at the earliest, leaving him a handful of games.
