Pakistan vs. Sri Lanka prediction, team news, pitch report and betting tips for 1st ODI

Pakistan host Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi on Sunday with the T20I series already won.

Sri Lanka's only comfort on tour came on October 13, when Kusal Mendis made 87 not out off 48 balls and shared an unbroken 98 with Kamindu Mendis to chase 169 with 17 balls to spare.

The ODI record is far harsher. At the 2023 World Cup, Sri Lanka made 344/9 and Pakistan replied with 345/4.

In 2025, at this ground, Sri Lanka made 288/8 and Pakistan finished on 289/2. That is nine wins in the last 10 meetings, and Sri Lanka's only escape was a DLS result at the 2023 Asia Cup, after both sides finished on 252.

Sahibzada Farhan, who made 76 off 47 balls in that T20I defeat, is a threat again. Shaheen Afridi captains a squad that includes Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman and Haris Rauf.

Pakistan vs. Sri Lanka 1ST ODI prediction: Who will win?

Pakistan have won nine of their last 10 ODI meetings with Sri Lanka, including all three in 2025, and they have chased well at Rawalpindi, reaching 289/2 in 2025 and 202/5 against Australia in 2026.

With Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf suiting a pace-friendly ground, Pakistan are the pick.
