Dunkerque reach agreement with former AC Milan striker M’baye Niang

USL Dunkerque are reported to have reached a verbal agreement with M'Baye Niang (31) on a one-year contract with an option for a further year, according to L'Équipe .

A free agent since leaving Turkish club Gençlerbirliği SK, where he played and proved decisive on eight occasions (six goals, two assists) in 27 appearances last season, the Senegalese striker is reportedly open to a return to France.

Having come through the SM Caen academy and played for Montpellier HSC, Stade Rennais, Girondins de Bordeaux and AJ Auxerre, Niang has made over 160 appearances and scored around 40 goals in Ligue 1.

A Senegal international (23 caps, four goals), the Meulan-born player also boasts significant international experience, having previously played for AC Milan, Watford and Torino, amongst others.

Having secured the services of Steven Nzonzi (37) this summer, USLD could well be set to pull off another major coup to round off their transfer window.
