The No. 18 USC Trojans are hosting the Washington Huskies , looking to respond to a disappointing loss to Oregon after the Ducks lost starting quarterback Dante Moore to a devastating injury.

Despite suffering their first loss of the season, a 41-27 trampling, Southern California still has a 4-1 record on the season and will need to use this matchup with the Huskies to bounce back and remain in the contender conversation.

All eyes are on Jayden Maiava as spectators will be itching to see what kind of response he has following his 326-yard, two-touchdown game against Oregon where he completed 23-of-42 passes but threw one pick. Offense shouldn't be an issue. Through five games this season, Maiava has piled up 1,499 yards and 14 touchdowns, throwing only two interceptions.

The real question mark for the Trojans is their defense, which has given up 118 points in five games. With the exception of a shutout against Fresno State, the USC defense is allowing nearly 30 points per game and that's to opponents such as Rutgers, San Jose State and Louisiana, in addition to Oregon.

The Trojans are at home at the LA Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles. It's going to be a focus for Lincoln Riley's defense to have a turnaround against Washington. Expect the offense to be ready for battle.
