World 100 Driver Rankings: Seeding The Entire 2026 Field

The World 100 annually brings together Dirt Late Model racing's best to Eldora Speedway. If every driver arrived in Rossburg, Ohio, with a seed beside their name, how would the field stack up?

Ahead of Sept. 10-12's World 100, we're ranking every expected entrant based on current form, Eldora performance, event history and the subjective factors separating contenders from the rest.

These aren't cut-and-dried predictions of where each driver will finish, nor simply a ranking of the sport's best drivers. The question is more specific: Who enters World 100 weekend with the strongest case to outperform everyone seeded behind him at one of the sport's most demanding venues?

Each ranking includes the driver's hometown and a personalized outlook for World weekend along with previous credentials. From Eldora favorites to drivers chasing Saturday's feature, here's how we seed the 2026 World 100 field (seeding best-known entries as of Tuesday night):

Background: Capturing four of the last six Eldora crown jewels, including June's Dream, Pierce has supplanted Jonathan Davenport as the new favorite at the Big E. He did look vincible in last year's World 100, unable to fully overcome the invert while rallying from 27th to ninth. Amid another monstrous 27-win campaign, he'll try to become the first driver to capture five Eldora crown jewels in a seven-race span.

2. Jonathan Davenport (49), Blairsville, Ga.

Best World 100 finish: 1st (2015, '17, '19, '21, '22)

Background: Five-time World 100 winner remains gold standard at Eldora, finishing seventh or better in seven consecutive editions. He enters with 14 victories, including a dominant $50,000 triumph at half-mile Port Royal two weeks ago, but has gone winless in the last three Eldora crown jewels — and hasn't gone four straight without winning since the 2015 Dream. Another triumph would tie Billy Moyer for most World 100 victories and Scott Bloomquist for most overall Eldora crown jewels at 12.

3. Brandon Sheppard (1), New Berlin, Ill.

Background: The 17-time winner and Prairie Dirt Classic winner appeared capable of winning June's Dream before a right-front tire failure knocked him from second. He enters World week amid a season-long 14-race winless streak, however, and the World remains the glaring omission from his résumé, with sixth his best finish in 12 A-main starts. Still, his crown-jewel strength this season keeps him firmly in the top three.

4. Ricky Thornton Jr. (20RT), Chandler, Ariz.

Background: Thornton might not have cracked the top 10 a month ago, but he's peaking at the right time, since debuting a new car at the Topless 100. He's since produced his first three-race streak of top-two finishes since April 2025, highlighted by a dominant victory at half-mile Port Royal two weeks ago and 23 of 25 laps led in Sunday's Baltes Classic before a late slip-up. The defending World winner is also a perfect 7-for-7 in A-main attempts since his 2019 debut.

5. Dale McDowell (17M), Chickamauga, Ga.

Background: Perhaps nobody has been more dependable in the World than McDowell, whose 12 consecutive top-eight finishes include three straight podiums. He has gained 106 positions during that remarkable stretch, relentlessly contending regardless of where he starts. Twenty-one years after his breakthrough victory, the 60-year-old remains a legitimate threat to become the event's oldest winner.

Background: Emerging as one of Eldora's most reliable contenders, Hoffman's recorded two podiums and three top-fives in the track's last four 100-lap crown jewels. His third-place finish in last year's World was his best in six A-main starts, continue to fuel his Eldora-biggie-winning potential. Sunday's Baltes Classic victory snapped a three-month winless drought and supplied a timely boost entering World week.

7. Hudson O'Neal (71), Martinsville, Ind.

Background: The 16-time winner this year leads the nation with 45 podiums and 76 top-10 finishes, giving him an undeniable résumé. The 2023 World winner has nonetheless gone winless with his SSI Motorsports team since mid-May, a lengthy drought that doesn't mix well with recent World results of 11th and 25th since his 2023 triumph.

Background: Rolling into World week hungry to redeem a likely Dream podium lost to a wheel issue, Erb has three victories in his last six starts, including a win at half-mile Southern Iowa Speedway and a sweep of Portsmouth's $25,000 weekend. He followed that surge with a fifth-place finish in Sunday's Baltes Classic. After charging from 16th to fourth in last year's World, Erb possesses the dangerous combination of proven Eldora speed and timely momentum.

Background: Madden's elusive Eldora crown jewel remains one of Dirt Late Model racing's great unfinished stories after runner-up finishes in three Dreams, the Eldora Million and Dirt Track World Championship. After calling June's Dream DNQ "a total disaster," Madden returns encouraged by consecutive fourth-place finishes at half-mile Port Royal. A breakthrough would certainly carry shades of Dale Earnhardt's cathartic 1998 Daytona 500 victory.

Background: The reigning Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series champ enters World week refreshed after Sunday's Hillbilly 100 victory snapped a 21-race winless drought. The breakthrough added another 100-lap triumph to a seven-win season that also includes the Firecracker 100. His World résumé remains surprisingly modest, however, with a single top-five and three top-10s in 10 A-main starts.

Background: The 2021 World winner has eight victories across six tours, but none against a full field since April 15 at Volunteer Speedway; his latest came in an August North-South 100 prelim. He slipped from ninth to 13th in June's Dream after running third in last year's World before pitting on lap 37 and retiring on lap 70. He's still among contenders, qualifying for six straight World A-mains.

Background: Blair has a strong grasp of the Dream, improving from 10th to seventh to second in three appearances while gaining 22 positions overall. His fifth-place finish in the 2024 Dirt Track World Championship and recent 100-lap victory at Lernerville further validate his long-distance strength. Now he must solve the World, where he has qualified only once in three attempts and finished 27th last year.

Background: The complexion of Marlar's season shifted dramatically after he switched to a Rocket XR2 following his Dream DNQ, producing six wins, 10 podiums and 11 top-10s in 22 starts since. He has qualified for eight of the last 10 Worlds, highlighted by a runner-up finish in 2021, but placed 11th in last year's consolation. Few drivers are riding higher into World week.

Background: Like Marlar, the North-South 100 winner has upped his game since debuting a new Rocket XR2, collecting four wins and six podiums across his last 11 starts. Three consecutive podiums at Portsmouth and Eldora over the weekend eased concerns raised by non-factor finishes of 10th and 17th at half-mile Port Royal two weeks ago. The 2025 Dream prelim winner has qualified for four consecutive Worlds, twice finishing a career-best 14th.

Background: The two-time Eldora major winner is the quintessential glass-half-full-or-half-empty contender. Both victories this season came in World of Outlaws events on half-miles at Selinsgrove and Bedford, and he finished second at half-mile Adams County two weeks ago. But he missed June's Dream by one position, while last year's 19th-place World finish ended a streak of six consecutive top-10s.

16. Ryan Gustin (19R), Marshalltown, Iowa

Background: Gustin might be ranked a bit low considering his last three World finishes of eighth, ninth and fifth, but it's difficult to justify placing him ahead of anyone above him.

17. Chris Ferguson (22), Mount Holly, N.C.

Background: Ferguson is among the few part-time operations capable of winning an Eldora prelim and contending in the 100-lapper, having charged from 26th to eighth in last year's World, finished ninth in June's Dream and qualified for six of the last seven Worlds.

Background: Winger's nine wins and charge from 19th to eighth in June's Dream point to his considerable upside, but he hasn't made a World A-main since 2021.

Background: With 11 victories and 43 top-10s in 56 starts on the season, the steady Feger believes he found an Eldora package in June's 15th-place Dream run and now seeks consecutive World A-mains for the first time since making three straight from 2012-14.

20. Daulton Wilson (58v), Fayetteville, N.C.

Background: The Viper-Big Frog Motorsports driver has qualified for seven consecutive Eldora crown jewels and finished 16th in June's Dream, making his consistency in Rossburg more meaningful than his one-win season.

Best World 100 finish: No starts in a single attempt.

Background: Some might think Ebert is ranked too high, but he's earning his keep following a 26th-to-11th charge in his Eldora crown jewel debut at June's Dream with an attrition-filled Topless 100 victory.

22. Ethan Dotson (74), Bakersfield, Calif.

Background: The ASD Motorsports driver owns national victories with the World of Outlaws and at the Wild West Shootout and is 2-for-2 in World A-main attempts, although both ended in DNFs.

23. Trey Mills (14jr), St. Augustine, Fla.

Best World 100 finish: No starts in a single attempt

Background: The 19-year-old is far more capable than his 23rd rank suggests, having led 89 combined laps in the Dream and Prairie Dirt Classic before sweeping Brownstown's John Gill Classic over Hudson O'Neal and Mike Marlar and finishing fourth in Sunday's Baltes Classic.

Background: The Robby Allen-led driver who came two spots shy of his first World A-main since 2021 has dominated regionally with 11 wins in 32 starts, but owns only one top-10 and a 15.1 average finish across 10 national races.

Background: The 21-year-old has two victories and five podiums in 14 starts with new car owner Jerry Foster, while qualifying for both of his Eldora crown jewel attempts — a career-best 18th in last year's World 100 debut and 24th in June's Dream.

26. Sam Seawright (16), Rainsville, Ala.

Background: Like Mills, the Coltman Farms Racing driver is far more capable than his ranking suggests, bringing four wins and his 10th-place finish at the Dream this June into his World debut.

Background: The 2022 Dirt Track World Championship winner's eighth-place 2024 World finish and three A-mains in four years separate him from similarly productive drivers.

Background: The former fourth-place finisher has made 11 World A-mains, but only one victory and two podiums this season temper his ranking as he attempts to qualify for four consecutive editions for the first time.

29. Tyler Carpenter (13), Parkersburg, W.Va.

Best World 100 finish: No starts in six attempts

Background: Popular West Virginia driver might have his best opportunity yet aboard Cody Sommer's DRT house car after agonizingly missing the last three World A-mains by one, three and one positions.

Background: Eight World A-mains and last year's consolation near-miss — one position behind Bobby Pierce — offset a winless, two-podium 2026 season.

31. Kyle Strickler (8), Mooresville, N.C.

Background: Scott Bloomquist's former mentee and cornerstone of Austin Kirkpatrick's chassis builds is one of 10 drivers to make six consecutive Worlds, but four straight event DNFs and only nine top-10s in 29 starts this season lower his ceiling.

Background: A Lucas Oil sweep of July's Diamond Nationals and a top-10 finish two weeks ago at half-mile Port Royal raise expectations for the World rookie.

33. Carson Ferguson (93), Lincolnton, N.C.

Background: Amid an uneven season featuring one $3,000 victory at Florence and a Dream DNQ by five positions, the Paylor Motorsports has reason for confidence qualifying for two consecutive World 100s.

Background: The 17-time World 100 A-main starter has missed the last two Dreams and Worlds but returns with momentum after winning twice in his last four starts.

Background: The five-time Lernerville champion remains an Eldora threat despite only two wins in 16 starts this season and returns looking to avenge missing last year's World A-main by three positions.

36. Dennis Erb Jr. (28), Carpentersville, Ill.

Background: The former Dream winner and 13-time World starter remains capable — he finished 11th last year — but a winless season and Dream DNQ temper his prospects.

37. Dustin Sorensen (19), Rochester, Minn.

Background: A recent Oskaloosa podium and a 2-for-2 record qualifying for the Dream suggest the third-year touring driver could make noise in his World debut.

Background: The Skyline Motorsports open-competition rookie has experienced equal parts promise and growing pains, but missing the Dream by one position in his Eldora crown jewel debut offers encouragement.

Best World 100 finish: No starts in two attempts

Background: Productive Southerner owns four wins and 13 podiums and was one position from transferring through his Dream heat before hitting the wall, making him a strong first-time qualifier candidate in his sixth Eldora crown jewel attempt.

Background: Eldora has tantalized Joiner, who's started on the pole of his World heat the last two years yet enters with five consecutive crown jewel DNQs, including missing June's Dream by three spots.

41. Tristan Chamberlain (20TC), Richmond, Ind.

Background: Sunday's Baltes Classic victory suggests the 18-year-old could end a streak of four consecutive Eldora crown jewel DNQs since making his first World A-main in 2023.

Background: Opie's 12 victories make him one of the season's most productive, but last year's World 100 and Dream trips yielded two consolation near-misses and a 2026 Dream withdrawal because of mechanical trouble.

43. Jason Jameson (12), Lawrenceburg, Ind.

Background: Twelve podiums and two victories in 32 regional starts are encouraging, though he missed June's Dream by two positions and has qualified for only one World in eight tries.

Best World 100 finish: No starts in single attempt

Background: Qualifying for June's Dream showcased the modified ace's potential, but only seven top-10s in 32 starts on the season temper his outlook.

Background: An unusually fragmented season across three chassis brands has yielded only three top-10s in 19 starts for the 19-time World A-main qualifier, though a season-best third Aug. 22 at Smoky Mountain offers hope.

Background: Eight podiums in 31 starts and a competitive 14th-place FloRacing Night in America finish at Eldora in June give the Juiceman legitimate sleeper appeal.

Background: The 18-year-old Michigan native enters with timely momentum from a North-South 100 podium and fifth-place Baltes finish, though his best Eldora crown jewel result is 10th in a Dream consolation.

48. Jadon Frame (81F), Winchester, Tenn.

Background: After missing last year's World transfer by four positions and finishing sixth in Sunday's Baltes Classic semifeature, the Riggs Motorsports driver has the goods to make his first A-main.

Background: Don't let two victories in only 14 starts fool you: the Team Christy Racing driver fell just three positions short of making the 2024 World in family-owned equipment.

50. Frank Heckenast Jr. (99jr), Frankfort, Ill.

Background: Three Summer Nationals wins and seven World A-mains barely earn him a top-50 spot, but he's missed every Eldora crown jewel since 2021 and averages 21.5 in his last four features there.

Background: Fell five positions short of transferring in his World 100 debut last year.

52. Michael Leach (09), Sun River, Mont.

Background: Typically brings a strong qualifying package and fell four spots short of a Dream transfer through a consolation race in June.

Background: Missed the World 100 A-main by three spots in a consolation race last year.

54. Jerry Bowersock (95J), Wapakoneta, Ohio

Background: Sixty-year-old has best shot in years to qualify for first World 100 A-main since 2013, coming fourth in Sunday's Eldora semi and already winning in new Rocket XR2.

55. Brenden Smith (17ss), Dade City, Fla.

Best World 100 finish: No starts in four attempts

Background: Thirteenth in last year's World cons and 12th in this year's Dream cons.
