Salford confirm Scarr and Asiimwe signings

Salford City have confirmed the signing of defender Dan Scarr from Wrexham and completed a season-long loan deal for Nathan Asiimwe from Charlton Athletic.

The club say the 31-year-old Scarr has signed a "multi-year" deal at the AIG Stadium and joins for an undisclosed fee.

Scarr, who has won promotion with Wycombe Wanderers, Plymouth Argyle and Wrexham, leaves the Racecourse Ground after two years in north Wales.

"I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into it," he told the club's website. "From speaking to the manager, the owners, I know where they want to go and I feel like that aligns with the ambitions and the moments I want to create in my career so I'm really looking forward to it.

"When you look back, they're the moments you always remember and it gives you goosebumps looking back to those times.

"I've learnt that from every team I've been in and I've picked up little bits at every team I've been successful at. That's what's sculpted me into what I am now and hopefully I can bring some of those qualities here and push on."

Asiimwe has already had loan spells with Hartlepool United, Walsall and AFC Wimbledon, with the 21-year-old making 42 appearances for the Dons last season.

"I've had to be patient but now I'm here I'm buzzing to get going, excited to be involved in what the plans are for the future," the right-back told the Salford website.

"I'd describe myself as hard-working, I'll give my all for the badge, get up and down the wings. I like to one-v-one defend and help out in both boxes. When I get in the final third I try and take my man on, get my cross in, get some assists and try to get a goal or two.

"For me it's more than just development, I'm looking further than that and hopefully, if I can help the team achieve its goal this season, who knows what the future can bring."
