Temple DB could be looking for revenge against Penn State

Penn State will be renewing its longstanding series with the Temple Owls this weekend. The two teams have played each other 45 times altogether, but this will be their first meeting since 2016.

The Nittany Lions have won 39 of the last 41 games in the series, but their most recent loss came in 2015. It's important not to take Temple lightly after seeing just how close the two sides have played each other in the last couple decades. One of the players on their defense who could wreck the game is safety Kolin Dinkins .

Not only is he one of the best players on the Owls ' defense, but he also used to play for Penn State. Dinkins was mainly a special teamer during his time in State College, so he'll come in with something to prove against the school he didn't get many snaps at.

He had three tackles in Temple's first game against Rhode Island, which is nearly half the number of tackles he had all of last season. After having so much success on special teams in the past, we know Dinkins is an athletic defensive back who isn't afraid to get physical.

We saw the Nittany Lions struggle to get the run game working last weekend, so Dinkins' impact could be felt there. He has some of the best pedigree on the Owls' roster and some added motivation to have a big game. Matt Campbell and his staff need to make sure they keep their eyes on Dinkins and don't allow him to wreck the game.
